I helped build the systems your institution runs on

Technology consulting for higher education — from someone who spent twenty years on the vendor side of the table, and now works on yours.

Most higher ed technology advice comes from people who've read about the systems. Pyleiton comes from someone who architected them, led the integration teams, and taught the fundamentals to the students who'll inherit them.

Our Services

Integration, where it actually breaks

Banner. Colleague. Ethos. Workday Student. Ellucian Student. Anthology Student. Student First.  The strategy deck is never the hard part — the hard part is the data model underneath it, the integration that has to survive a term rollover, and the thirty years of institutional exceptions nobody documented. That's the work I've done since before it was called digital transformation.

AI that clears the governance review

Anyone can run an AI pilot. The question is whether it survives procurement, FERPA, your data policies, and the people who have to operate it in year two. I help institutions and vendors design AI workflows that are useful and defensible — with the guardrails, data handling, and documentation that get them approved rather than shelved.

I know how the vendors think, because I was one

CTO at Lingk. VP of Integrations & Developer Relations at Anthology through the Blackboard merger. Fifteen years scaling development at Ellucian. If you're an institution evaluating a vendor, I know what's on their roadmap and what's in their contract. If you're a vendor trying to reach institutions, I know why your integration story isn't landing.

Tell me what's stuck

No endless discovery calls, no proposal template. Describe the problem and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it.
